I have always had a passion for the Spanish language and all things related to health and post-graduation I will continue to pursue endeavors surrounded by the Spanish language and health. I had prior career aspirations to become a neonatal nurse practitioner, but with intuition I have decided my calling is to put aside privileges to serve others with humility. Burnout severely impacted my desire to not only push through undergrad, but to want to continue an even higher education of a Masters in Nursing, especially in a specialty. I believe COVID-19 plays a role in my career plan shift, but my intuition keeps me grounded in knowing I made the best choice for myself and the future I will serve. Advocacy has always been an important value to me and why I even chose neonatal nursing at first to be a voice for the voiceless. I realized I can still be that voice and advocate for my future endeavors. 

 

Though challenges have arisen both mentally and physically, I have remained steadfast and resilient in every facet of my life and I am proud to call that one of my best values and qualities. With ambition comes resilience and being ruthlessly ambitious allows one to become better and eventually the best as resilience requires learning through mistakes. Through ambition and resilience, it’s important to give yourself and those around you grace.

 

In my career, giving grace is making the choice to interact with the world around you with calmness and compassion to be an example of being graceful. While my core values of humility, ambition, intuition, grace, and resilience have carried me through every trial and tribulation, they’ve also repaired and restored me to be exactly where I need to be. I am looking forward to taking these values into the next chapter of my journey as I begin my exciting career upon graduation. The journey was never easy as I faced many hardships before and throughout my college career, but with acceptance of what is done and what can’t be changed and the humility to understand we all have a story and testimony, I remain bold and daring to accomplish every dream I set for myself and will forever be zealously ruthless about my ambitions and using my compassionate heart to lead me in the paths meant for me.
